Any good ESL teaching jobs in Taiwan for an American?

Are you still looking for an English teaching job in Taiwan?

Hi, yes I am looking for a ESL teaching position in Taiwan.

If you could let me know your salary expectations, if you want to teach kids or adults or both and what cities you’re interested in in Taiwan I’ll get back to you in an hour.

Well thank you for the quick response! I have already purchased a one-way plane ticket to Taipei that leaves Orlando, FL U.S. June ,2017. I am very set on teaching in Taipei which is why I decided to buy my ticket while still job searching. I would love to teach kids and/or adults. I have teaching experience with graduate students 17 years old and up. I would like to make around $650 NT per hour starting. I believe with my previous teaching experience and TEFL experience I could have a lot to offer.

Wow, you’re very proactive. I recruit for schools in Korea, Vietnam and Taiwan. Have you looked at what documents you’ll need to prepare before you leave?

I have not actually. I have heard about work visas but was not sure of much more in terms of when to get one. I have a passport but other than that I do not have much knowledge of other documents I may need.

Some schools in Taiwan will request a criminal background check. Others won’t. It really depends on the school. In Korea, for example  they ask teachers to submit a national level CBC.  For example, HESS or some government run schools will require a CBC in Taiwan.  It’s getting stricter now, since Asian countries can’t be hiring criminals and such. Getting a criminal background check once you leave for Taiwan is harder to do and it’s better to get it done while your still home. Some of the schools I recruit for ask for it while others don’t. Usually criminal background checks are valid for 6 months. Just something to be aware of.

Oh ok. Well that is completely fine. I have no criminal background so that’s no sweat. I can take care of that if need me.

Sorry, are you from the US or Canada?

I am from the U.S.. Would you like me to send you my CV?

Certainly.  I’ll reach out to our team to see what’s available. Please include a head and shoulders photo as well.

Great. I’ll send it over. Thank you for reaching out!

Sure. If you have any questions, please contact me. Happy to help.

Going to Taiwan to teach. What should I bring?

Hi! I’m moving to Taipei this Saturday to start teaching kindergarten. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what to pack?! (I heard bringing Advil and western brand name medicine … Any other “tips?”) thank you !!!

Deodorant! I ran out of Secret a few weeks ago…You don’t need to bring otc meds. Pharmacies are everywhere and very reasonable. You will find that Taiwan is very convenient for just about everything and a huge supportive expat community.

A shovel. You’ll need it for meetings, contract signings etc.

Sorry, eh? You can buy many North American and Canadian products here, albeit at inflated prices. I shan’t ask personal questions, but female colleagues have bemoaned the lack of larger brassieres, as well as certain hygiene products. The climate here

U need help for medical I can help translate my friend she is Specialist in Health etc with a pharmacy. Go to Costco you find everything you need.
