Teacher fingerprints students (causes uproar)

A Tokyo teacher was recently reprimanded for taking unusual steps with his class in order to catch a bully, who allegedly placed a thumbtack in a classmate’s shoe.

It was later learned that…

The board said the teacher collected the fingerprints because he thought it would help control a spate of bullying at the school. Apparently, he did not take the fingerprints to identify who had placed the thumbtack

Given that school bullying is a universal problem, and each year victims of bullies sometimes take their own lives because of it, it’s up to ESL teachers to enforce zero tolerance for bullying among our students.
