Yeungnam University is currently hiring for a full-time English professor
to be begin March 1, 2017.

Situated on 900 beautiful sections of land in Gyeongsan, 6 miles southeast
of Daegu, Yeungnam University is a private college with over 35,000 students.

About The Job

1. Work Title: Assistant/Associate Language Professor

2. Teaching Subjects

English Conversation – English Writing – Business English
Cinema English – Practical English

3. Contract Duration

March 1, 2017 to February 28, 2018 The contract is renewable.

4. Teaching Hours and Vacation Period

 12 hours for each week for two 15-week semesters.

Spring to Fall.

8 weeks of paid vacation during the summer and winter

5. Necessities and Qualifications

The candidate must have no less than a Master’s degree.

An English major is preferred.

Applicants will need a minimum of one year’s teaching experience at a
university as a professor or one and a half year’s experience as a full-time
English instructor at a university.

An English teaching certificate such as (TESOL/TEFL/CELTA or equal) from a
reputable organization.

Compensation and Benefits

A yearly compensation of around 37,000,000 Won (or more)

per 12 month contract.

The salary is based on your capabilities and experience.

Overtime pay: Overtime pay for teachers will be paid by University’s standard rates
during the agreement term of contract.

The Professor’s medical coverage will be paid for by Yeungnam University’s Medical

Insurance Policy at the standard rate during the contract period.

Korean income taxes will be paid for by the professor.

Pension Insurance Fees(Insurance Fund) will be paid by the teacher as per the
Pension Law(Act) Korea.

The University will permit the Professor to have enjoy 8 weeks of time off during the
summer and winter breaks.

Housing is not offered, but rather you will be given a lodging stipend of 450,000
won for each month.

The University will allocate one research office.
